Chad & Marcie | Sedona Golf Resort Wedding

The Vendors
Ceremony Venue: Sedona Golf Resort
Reception Venue: Sedona Hilton

Chad and Marcie have been friends for many, many years. We spent countless nights partying together and watching the sun come up. When they announced their plan to get married in at the Sedona Golf Resort all of their friends knew what that meant: A three day, non-stop, no-holds-barred nekked in the hot tub party. It would be an experience that none of us would forget for the rest of our lives. Being asked by friends to photograph a wedding is always a great honor and validation.

The location they chose is one of my favorites: The Sedona Golf Resort and Sedona Hilton. The red rocks of Sedona are stunning all by themselves. When you add in rolling hills, lush green grass and a beautiful bride and groom. You have a recipe for magnificent photos.

To second shoot and assist I brought in world class photographers Jamalle Kelly and Shawna Stanley. From the moment we arrived there were activities and parties and food fit for a king. Having spent lots of time in Sedona and knowing people in the area, we stayed at a Cabin with friends. It was in the hills overlooking the main thoroughfare with views of the red rocks. If you’ve never been to Sedona, you are in for a real treat. There are mountains everywhere and they’re a beautiful red color. It’s just stunning. There’s lots of folklore about the mountains. The red color is from iron ore and the concentration of iron is so high that people say it affects the magnetic fields in the area. The residents in the area tend to be a little “crunchy” and have strong artistic tendencies. Chad and Marcie chose Sedona because they had frequented the area while they were dating.

The wedding day was stunning. I got up before dawn to photograph the sun coming up over the red rocks. I went to the Sedona Airport Mesa which has unparalleled views of the city of Sedona, Chimney Rock, Coffee Pot Rock, and Grey Back Mountain. Then it was off to Sedona Golf Course to get a couple of shots of the 10th hole, which I think has the most beautiful views of the entire course. Then it was off to shoot the bride getting ready.

While we were all waiting for Marcie to come down the aisle she was no where to be found. 10 minutes went by, then 15 and still no Marcie! All of a sudden we see her and her dad speeding across the greens in a golf cart! Talk about an entrance. They were married by close friend Tim Schneider who did a wonderful job officiating.  As the ceremony came to a close the sky exploded with color that I’ve never seen anywhere except for Arizona.  We have the best sunsets.  Shawna captured the lead photo just as we were ready to leave for the reception.

The reception was held at the Sedona Hilton.  After a fun cocktail hour the Bride and Groom made their grand entrance to the Starwars Theme.

What an amazing, fun filled weekend! There are no words to describe what an incredible wedding Chad and Marcie had. The memories and fun will be remembered for a lifetime.
