When I moved to Arizona from New Jersey I made the pilgrimage to Sedona like every other visitor to the state. The red rocks and sunsets are breathtaking. And like every tourist, I visited Tlaquepaque. From that first visit I wanted to photograph a wedding there. It is truly a spectacular location. Well, it took me 22 years before I had the opportunity to fulfill that goal. When fashion photographer Michael Kennedy called and asked if I would photograph his friends wedding I jumped at the chance.

Bre is just the ideal bride: Elegant, beautiful and warm. She’s a little shy and understated and boy, does the camera love her! In order to get everything just right for her wedding day, Bre wanted to do a set of Bridal Portraits. This gave her make-up artist an opportunity to test out her make-up and hair in advance. We then went to a local garden and took some portraits.

Aunjel and Demetrius married at the Wigwam Resort

The Wigwam is one of Arizona’s best hotels and it was a beautiful day for Aunjel and Demetrius to get married! Today I was second shooting for the amazing Cyndi Hardy. Aunjel is from New Orleans and a number of the guest had flown in just for the wedding. It was the first time they had seen each other since hurricane Katrina. At the begining of the reception Aunjel lead everyone in a “Second Line” dance. It’s a New Orleans traditional dance where everyone follows the lead throughout the venue. It was so unique and everyone was having such a blast that the wedding went by sooo quickly.

Mary Ann and Jason are two very special people. They were married on February 14, 2010, Valentines day. Sometimes when I see a couple getting married I think they should be together forever. Mary Ann and Jason are that kind of couple. They exude love and respect for one another. Little things, like symbols, are very important to them. I shot this wedding with the very talented Jackqueline Hanna.

Brad & Danielle | Wedding in Scottsdale

Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Scottsdale is a beautiful place to get married. Brad and Danielle had perfect weather and the bluest Arizona sky. The reception was at the Scottsdale Plaza.
